in Landline Phones and VoIP Services#1
I am looking for a land line phone which I can disable at times from making any outgoing calls (you guessed it, teenage daughter running up huge bill).
I've seen some cordless phones listed as having 'keypad lock' - is this just a button like on a mobile, or controlled by a PIN code?
Catalogues and websites don't say and shop assistants seem not to know!
Some also say PIN code under features.
Do you think this type of phone will do the job? Any other suggestions?
( I know I could get BT call barring, but that's quite fiddly to keep activating and de-activating as often as I would need to, and of course involves a small charge).

But you'd need to create a lockable cupboard around your master socket and this device. It does however allow you to block certain numbers, such as mobile, 090x, 0870, 0871, 118nnn numbers or any number you want to block, it also allows you to route calls to the cheapest provider such as 18185 for certain calls. - #4Get the Orchid. I can recommend it 101%. I had the same trouble with my son, and it's sorted him out good and proper.

I have two of the above mentioned phone addicted daughters, so rather than beat them, help them. Have you thought about VOIP for them? €10.00 for 3 months of calls to landlines, and much cheaper to call mobiles
